For the record, GTAV only uses 2.6 gb of ram for me. But your OS will each up RAM as will chrome and anything else you have going. 8GB usually is enough but I would suggest going for 16gb and not having to think about it later. I've only played one game that used more than 4gb of ram and it was an early access game.
